Overarching Design Structure

Every lesson in the curriculum integrates the design structure: invitation, deep study, and consolidating and applying. The overall structure of a lesson starts with a Warm-up, continues with the classroom Activities, and culminates with the Lesson Synthesis and Cool-down. Students are invited to share their ideas and valuable experiences. They grapple with and solve problems that are part of a coherent study of course-level mathematics. Each lesson includes a suggested timeline for completing the activities. While lessons are designed for a 60-minute class period, they can be adjusted to fit your schedule and the needs of your students.
