Introduction
Every course begins with an intentional invitation to build a joyful math community. Unit 1 is intentionally designed for students to learn about one another and establish norms for sharing ideas, while teachers learn about the valuable experiences and perspectives that each student brings. The first lessons each have embedded exercises to support community building.
