Divide Decimals by Whole Numbers

Lesson Narrative
In previous lessons students divided a whole number by a decimal less than 1, using place value understanding and the relationship between multiplication and division. In this lesson, students apply these ideas to find quotients of a decimal less than 1 by a whole number. Students work with diagrams and also think about place value, relating these quotients of a decimal by a whole number to whole number quotients.
