Students interpret standard and factored forms of quadratic functions within a familiar context, then connect these forms to the features of their graphs.

Students are asked to identify the - and -intercepts of graphs representing expressions in standard and factored form. They observe that some numbers in the expressions are related to the intercepts, and they hypothesize about the patterns they observe (MP7).
