Lesson Narrative
In the associated Algebra 1 lesson, students are presented with bivariate data in tables and need to decide what type of model to use, create a model, and use the model to make predictions (MP4). This lesson gives students an opportunity to practice some discrete skills that are used in this work in a more scaffolded way.
- Create a function to model a set of data.
- Determine whether a linear or exponential model is a better fit for a set of data.
- Use technology to create a scatterplot to model a set of data.
