In this lesson, students continue to develop their understanding of logarithms by working with expressions and equations in some bases other than 10. They analyze a base-2 logarithm table and use it to evaluate logarithmic expressions and solve equations.
Students practice rewriting equivalent equations in exponential and logarithmic form by making use of the structures they noticed from the logarithm tables (MP7).

Note that in this lesson, students are still learning to make sense of logarithms, so use of technology to evaluate logarithms is not recommended. In later lessons, students will have opportunities to use a calculator to find log values.
