Lesson Narrative
This lesson is optional because it provides an opportunity for students to learn and practice how to form numbers 6–10, something that is often taught as part of handwriting or writing. Students will have significant opportunities to practice tracing and writing numbers in future centers and lessons.
In a previous lesson, students learned the formation of and practiced writing numbers 1–5. In this lesson, students practice writing numbers 6–10.

- Each group of 2 students needs 2 different colored dry erase markers and a piece of string.
- Put the gameboards in sheet protectors so they can be used repeatedly.
