Lesson Narrative
In the associated Algebra 1 lesson, the focus is on relating features of expressions that define quadratic functions with features of graphs. This is accomplished by looking for and making use of structure. In this lesson, students are prompted to relate features of expressions that define functions with features of graphs, but in the context of linear functions. Students look for and make use of the structure of linear functions when making connections between parts of expressions and key features of graphs (MP7).
- Describe (orally and in writing) what different parts and forms of the equation for a linear function represent on the graph of the function.
